Follow their instructions and you’ll soon learn why you got 2 of them. The anti-glare comes sandwiched between 2 masks. One side is labeled Step 1, the other Step 2. It’s completely rectangular, so it fits above the left cutaway on the Nook Color. Held in portrait mode, the anti-glare fits precisely from top to bottom (height) with no space. But it’s cut smaller from left to right (width). Not knowing this beforehand created a 1/8th-inch gap on one side after following the company’s instructions. (2). Use a microfiber cloth to clean the Nook’s color-screen and not what’s given in the package. (3). Don’t completely peel off the mask in Step 1. The anti-glare attracts dust from the air like a magnet. (4). Don’t try to correct it by using water. So, after I trashed my first screen this is what worked VERY easily… Turn the Nook to landscape mode. Flip the anti-glare to have Step 2 on top and Step 1 underneath, when held in your hand. Working from the left side of the Nook. Peel off a small portion of Step 1. Center and align the anti-glare. Then place it against the left edge of the color screen, touching the frame(don’t allow any space) and press down using your other hand. While peeling off more, continue to press it down while squeezing out air bubbles. After Step 1 is applied, squeeze out any remaining air bubbles. Then, completely peel off Step 2. Return the Nook to portrait mode and you’ll find the top/bottom fits precisely; the 1/8th-inch gap is evenly spaced on left-right sides. The anti-glare has a nice matte finish. I reduced the Nook’s brightness setting to get a great “Color-Kindle” experience. Maybe words are written in black and white. But we live in a world full of color. I hope this helps!

I purchased this Anti Glare screen protector for 2 reasons: 1) I wated to read easier under sunlight and 2) The “naked” screen gets dirty so fast with finger smudges I was hoping this could help keep it a bit cleaner. Well, I believe this product will easily accomplish both. I like the fact that it was easy to apply and even though I did get a few tiny bubbles on the outside edge, I barely noticed them so its really not a big deal. The reason I gave it 3stars is because now my screen seems very grainy to me…and it’s very annoying. In fact, I’m not sure I will actually leave the screen protector on just because of this. Maybe my eyes are just sensitive ….I don’t know but its like going from HDTV quality back to standard definition …adjusting the brightnness didn’t seem to clear it up for me. I just didn’t expect this to happen because I have a screen protector on my cell phone and it’s perfectly undetectable. Of course that was a different product though…. Anyway… Im just feeling disappointed. Another thing I didn’t like was the stylus pen. It just didn’t work as well as I expected it to. I have to tap or swipe something 2 or 3 times before the device responds. OTOH, I can use my finger and make a selection on the first try. Perhaps the stylus will work better without the screen protector applied. Bottom line- I wanted to love this product, but for me it is “just ok”.
Fits Nook 2nd Edition Simple Touch (Black and White), July 13, 2011
I wanted to buy some accessories for the Nook 2nd Edition my mother received for her birthday. The hardest part was figuring out which accessories fit which Nook–1st Edition, 2nd Edition or Color. Be sure to figure that one out if you are looking. The screen fit perfectly, though not quite bubble free as it advertises. It has some specific instructions that I didn’t follow to the T either; maybe I would have had less bubbles, but the few bubbles there were don’t affect the view any. Having the extra chargers, one for the home and one for the car helps my mother because she wants the Nook for traveling, so now she’s set. The data cable will be helpful for downloading library books from the computer, which we haven’t tried yet but are looking forward to doing. I have no idea what the fish shaped key chain is for, however…..
